 A prefabricated building refers to that which is manufactured in a factory (entire structure or parts) and then carried to the site for assembling.  For instance, the framing – columns, struts, and beams of a pre engineered building is made in factories and then transported to the construction site, where it is then mounted/installed. The term prefab distinguishes itself from traditional construction in this way. In traditional construction, only the materials are carried to the site, where the whole process of construction takes place floor by floor.
